Sighting Date: Fall, Early to Mid 1950's Anderson, Indiana
I was a young boy living in Anderson, Indiana , when early evening about dusk , the people next door came over and said we have to come outside, that there was jet fighters chasing something around the sky.
When we went outside you could see two jets chasing a small white light back and fourth. We watched it for maybe a minute or two then the light stopped in place. It seemed to be letting one jet catch up!
As the jet came closer it opened fire on the object, with rockets, which was fairly new in the early 1950's, one rocket missed and exploded a little passed the object, than the second rocket struck the object with a spark like effect, the noise from the rockets jolted everyone! With in a second the object changed color from white to blue then to red, at that point it shot up and straight out of the sky.
My father wrote a letter to the army ,will I think the Army, on what we had seen. What he wrote I don't know, but a few days later an Air Force Officer came to the house. My mother was the only one home at the time and I was around the corner hiding from the front door and listened to the whole thing.
He loudly stated that we where "crackpots" must forget what we saw and if we didn't we would be sorry for it. He saw me standing there then pointed at me and said," Son, that goes for you too!"
He then went to the homes of everyone who saw it on the block and repeated the same thing. That was fifty years ago. How long should one hide! Even years later in the old age my parents would not talk about it.
If anyone who reads this and may know sometime about it,please let me know! contact-........E-mail
He became a scriptwriter for radio and television and a newspaper journalist. His first book Jadoo in 1957 was about black magic in the Orien
Keel was an early admirer of Charles Fort (1874-1932). He wrote articles for Englands Flying Saucer Review and for Saga magazine. Keel was influenced by fellow Fortean Ivan T. Sanderson and ufologist Aimee Michel and in 1966 began a fulltime investigation of monsters, aerial and paranormal phenomena. Like other 1960s researchers like J. Allen Hynek and Jacques Vallee, Keel tried to validate the extraterrestrial hypothesis but it failed to answer all of his questions. He also was a friend and contemporary of author Brad Steiger and was an avid cryptozoologist. He remained for decades one of the most original and controversiologists.

Let me ask you "Is this true?"

Keel concluded that &ufology was just another name for demonology. In 1967, he abandoned the extraterrestrial hypothesis when his own field investigators disclosed an astounding overlap between psychic phenomena and UFOs. In his 1970 book, UFOs: Operation Trojan Horse, he wrote that a non human or spiritual intelligence source has staged whole events over a long period of time to propagate and reinforce certain erroneous systems which mirrored the findings of fellow ufologist Jacques Vallee. He believed that all anomalies, fairies, phantom airplanes, creatures, poltergeists, balls of light and UFOs were a cover for the real phenomena which was ultraterrestrial not extraterrestrial&. All were shape changing phenomena from another order of existence. He was not sure if alien visitors were visitors at all but maybe were just an advanced earthly civilization which may or may not be human.
In 1975 he wrote his most famous book The Mothman Prophecies about a West Virginia creature which was also made into a movie
Keel;s concepts of windows about specific hotspots of combined phenomenal appearances, waves which were cyclic appearances of the phenomena and the Wednesday phenomena which documented the disproportionate number of UFO sightings on Wednesday, greatly influenced the genre. Keel looked for patterns and for instance would document a certain location on a ridge that might have a high rate of strange events occurring after the 21st of the month on Wednesday in a high frequency month like April.

North-central Indiana. Known for its autoracing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Its motto, "Cross Roads of America", is rather accurate: it has more highways per square mile of any state. Major city: Indianapolis.

Jacques Vallee, noted computer scientist, Ufologist and astronomer is reputed to have responded to Keels death by saying on July 6th that,
I did hear about Johns death. Although this was expected, given his long fight with illness the past few years, it is very sad to realize that his voice is now silent in the debate about the nature of the phenomena that continue to fascinate us.
As you know, his writing and mine have followed a parallel course (I wish I had written JADOO, a delightful book!) as we were among a small number of heretics who have consistently questioned the first-order extraterrestrial theory. He realized very early that UFOs could not be understood apart from other, terrestrial paranormal phenomena, which put him decades ahead of most researchers. He deserves to be recognized as one of the most creative, independent thinkers in the field.
s comments sum it up for me. John will be sorely missed by all.

The witness is asking MUFON to investigate.
The report is unedited.
Saturday March 21rst,at about 4:30 to 4:35 P.M. decided to try to retrieve golf balls that I knew I had sliced off into the field in question the balls had been there since last fall but are hard to find due to the fact our field in this county (are no till)after finding four golf balls and knowing there were more I ventured some where 110 feet further back into the field came across a 12 foot in diameter circle.
I returned home grabbed my Sony handy cam and returned to the location of the circle photographed and and took video of the said circle I returned to the area around 5:00 P.M. after inspecting it to be sure I wasn't just seeing what I wanted to see or that it might be something explainable I returned home showed the photo's to my mother, she then proceeds to tell me she could swear she saw something strange in the sky to the north west of our home in the sky I can not on the other hand confirm this myself(in other word I did not see this object).
After reviewing the photo's and video clips I called a close friend told him I had found something I wanted to get his opinion at about seven thirty we left my home headed to the site I waited to discus the situation with him until we arrived we took more video measured the area and took soil samples while taking video for evidence one sample within the circular pattern and one soil sample from just outside.
The circular pattern was completely dry while outside of it was damp or moist this is visible in one of my photo's that I will attach to this report it looked as if someone lay a a round pattern on the ground and dried the inner part with a hair drier making a perfect dry pattern in the end.
There is a pile of dead corn stalks and bean stalks inside the circle that seem to show evidence of a swirl pattern (not well defined but seems to be a slight swirl)to the outer part of the circle the story is different there's an inch or more of plant matter that has been moved in what looks to be an evident swirl pattern around said area, there is more but I'm out of room here,we returned on the 22nd with metal detector compass and a stud finder to test for anything abnormal we got nothing with the metal detector or compass the stud finder on the other hand acted strange which I did not expect and this means nothing to me it was just an idea and these items were all we had to investigate with.
If there is anything that you may want to know further you are welcome to contact me though I do not want to be hounded by outside sources other than MUFON,and or MUFON investigators in short what I'm saying here is that I don't desire having government officials pulling into my drive way thinking their going to take my camera because I stumbled into something that I may have not been meant to see,so I'm opting the circle below to not have any other person other than a MUFON rep or investigator to have my contact info and would be glad to answer any questions just look at the pictures below and tell me is this normal?
Witness photo from an Indiana field on March 21, 2009.An Indiana man looking to retrieve golf balls from a field March 21 stumbled upon a 12-foot diameter impression in the ground that looked like a crop circle.
The man returned to photograph the circle, and upon hearing his mother say she saw something "strange in the sky," he returned again with a friend to take more photos and collect soil samples. The two men then discovered that the ground inside the cirlce was dry, while soil nearby was moist. Also of note, although not well defined, was "a pile of dead corn stalks and bean stalks inside the circle that seem to show evidence of a swirl pattern."
The following is the witness account, according to a report filed March 22, 2009, with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database. Images are included below.
